How Do We “Work” — or How Love Naturally “Works”

I cherish the moments with my children where our differing, sometimes seemingly opposing perspectives lead to profound insights: he, the scientist, and I, the playful experimental explorer. As fellow travelers through life, we both seek understanding. Here’s one possible idea of human control systems and how intentional lifestyle choices can positively influence them — feel free to make up your own mind and lifestyle choices LoL

1. Neurological System

Our brain operates through electrical impulses that shape thoughts and emotions. Engaging in mindfulness and meditation can enhance cognitive functions and emotional regulation.

Influence: Incorporate mindfulness practices or meditation into your routine. Note- it’s ok to make it fun!

2. Cardiac Electromagnetic Field

The heart’s electromagnetic field impacts overall health. Regular aerobic exercise and Tai Chi can help balance and strengthen this field.

  • Source: Thyfault & Booth (2011) on exercise and cardiovascular health

Influence: Engage in aerobic activities and Tai Chi for cardiovascular benefits. Note: Experiment how you can get into a different state of mind — drug-free!!

3. Cellular Electrical Activity

Cellular health is vital for overall well-being. A balanced diet and yoga can enhance cellular function and reduce inflammation.

  • Source: Gómez-Pinilla (2008) on diet and brain function

Influence: Follow a nutritious diet and practice yoga regularly. Note: If you choose every day new, vary, experiment with different possibilities it’s a choice, not a loveless habit or obligation!!!

4. Neuroplasticity

The brain’s ability to adapt and rewire itself, known as neuroplasticity, can be fostered through continuous learning and meditation.

  • Source: Kandel (2001) on brain changes with learning

Influence: Engage in lifelong learning and meditation to support neuroplasticity. Note: For me it takes breaks, sometimes forceful breaks to cut the habit and slow down and sit and feel — then, comes a natural craving to exploring more…

5. Stem Cells

Stem cells play a crucial role in regeneration and repair. Proper nutrition and stress management are key to supporting their function.

  • Source: Zhao et al. (2018) on diet and stem cells

Influence: Maintain a healthy diet and manage stress effectively. Note: play with yummy food alternatives and exiting environments in nurturing ways.

6. Environmental Adaptation

Our ability to adapt to environmental changes impacts mental and physical health. Walking in nature and practicing walking meditation can enhance this adaptability.

Influence: Spend time in natural settings and practice walking meditation. Note: one of my passions http://thewalkingguru.org

By making conscious — and from my perspective loving versus pushing and pulling — lifestyle choices- we can enhance our well-being and navigate life’s challenges more effectively.

PS: The way we do the things we do — especially as a mom of 2 kids I believe that we don’t own and control anything other than our every day’s steps by making them conscious and loving — we are part of the flow, we co-create the flow, we are the magic!

An ADHD, dyslexic hyperactive 8 year old kid once said: I want to be a doctor and travel. That was my son. I answered — ok, just promise me one thing: if you are fever ed up with that job, have the courage to let it all go and do something else — no matter how much time, effort and money you put in. I still love that attitude towards life.
