The surge in popularity of salient-focused strategies amongst the human race, especially in burgeoning social fields like online marketing, is fueled by the social influence that saliency exerts over both human individuals and groups.
Today, understanding the potential ramifications of salient strategies across ethical, social, and political dominions — including those spanning education, architectural design, food culture, and beyond, is imperative to help safeguard the future concept of privacy.
Regardless of the interesting, or shockingly accurate, revelations that salience may reveal about humanity in the future when examined alongside A.I. and salient-focused algorithms; I believe that awareness of everyday salience(s) should be taught coupled with human empathy in order to avoid misinformation, privacy violations, and much more.
