"AI Works" Are A Future Geopolitical Challenge For Nations

In 2016, a Japanese novel called “Konpyuta ga shosetsu wo kaku hi” was submitted into a literary contest. It did not win the final prize, but it did pass the first round. In English, “Konpyuta ga shosetsu wo kaku hi” means “The Day A Computer Writes A Novel.” This title could not be more literal. The novel was written by an AI system.

What took place in Japan is not the first time AI “created” something. Researchers at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden created AI that produced 100,000 new folk songs. Christie’s, the premium auction house, is auctioning off art produced by an AI system from France. And, IBM Watson produced a trailer for the Hollywood movie, “Morgan."
