Baseball’s dwindling group of passionate living room scorekeepers were treated to a fun and rare scoring occurrence during the Angels-Astros game on Thursday night. During the fourth inning of Houston’s 3–2 victory, Albert Pujols had a major brain fart. He took off from first base on a shallow Matt Joyce fly ball to center and, thinking there were two outs, he failed to retreat to first and instead circled the bases.
The result was an unassisted double play for Astros centerfielder Jake Marisnick:
