Relive Stephen Curry’s Ridiculous 2008 NCAA Tournament That Started it All
NBA MVP Stephen Curry exploded onto the national scene with the 10th-seeded Davidson Wildcats in the 2008 NCAA Tournament. He was a little-known skinny sophomore guard from nearby Charlotte that, until his tourney exploits and popularity among the locals, was simply known as former NBA player Dell Curry’s son.
He would lead Davidson to three tourney wins and one game away from the Final Four before ultimately falling to eventual national champion Kansas. It was during those three games that Curry went from virtually unknown to a national obsession. He played all but eight minutes in those four tournament games, scoring 128 total points, including 40 in a First Round win over Gonzaga.
