Taival, the Finnish company that brought the AI Monday networking event series back to life, has just released the AI Monday Compendium. It’s full of details and information revolving around artificial intelligence and features key companies, people and insights about the international AI scene. You can download your own copy here.

AI Monday: Sharing ideas, best practices, trends and AI use cases

“AI Monday” is an international networking series that started in 2017. Based on the “Mobile Monday”-series, which originated in Finland in the early 2000s, the goal of AI Monday is to harvest the potential of AI for businesses and to bring together people from science, academia and business to share ideas, best practices, trends and AI use cases on Monday afternoons. Since its relaunch in Finland a few years ago, it has spread to other cities, including Berlin, Copenhagen and Malaga. In 2019, Porsche brought the AI Monday series to Leipzig and the Stuttgart/Tübingen area. Our goal is to further advance and broaden the exchange and the knowledge around artificial intelligence in Germany.

The first AI Monday event this year took place in Ludwigsburg at Porsche Digital’s Digital Experience Foundry and was attended by more than one hundred AI enthusiasts — you can read our recap here. Juri Stobbe from Taival, my colleague Daniel Bareiss and myself organize the events in the Stuttgart/Tübingen region.

AI in the automotive industry

At Porsche, we believe artificial intelligence is a game-changer. Already, we are seeing its impact across a wide variety of industries. It is also one of the most promising fields for the automotive industry. From autonomous driving to intelligent traffic management systems, AI technologies are poised to revolutionize cars, mobility and much of the world around us.

Our goal at Porsche is to offer our customers a unique and personalized brand experience. And AI is increasingly playing a part in this. For example, we are actively investigating use cases that employ an emerging technique in Machine Learning called “Federated Learning” to maximize data security and privacy. We have also developed a prototype for a remote parking pilot that allows the vehicle to self-drive and self-park in a parking lot.

We are looking forward to many more Mondays. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not exactly sure when the next event will be. In the meantime, you can dive into the AI Compendium and read the latest about artificial intelligence.
