The sunset, a beloved person right next to you, nostalgic music and beautiful spots waiting around every corner. Thinking of my last road trip makes the time until the next holiday go by a little faster.

But, to find the perfect route can be quite challenging and time-consuming. It often takes a lot of research upfront: Where to eat? Where to stop? How to find those lonesome places with a beautiful view?

These thoughts led us to develop Porsche Road Trip, an app that helps travelers seeking the next adventure find answers to all these questions. To assist all car enthusiasts in planning, organising and navigating their extraordinary trips, the app combines navigation systems with digital, customised solutions — a travel guide that is always on hand, right in your pocket.

Our CEO at Porsche Digital Thilo Koslowski believes “that the future of mobility still lies in the car and the fun of driving. Even in the future, you will always want to drive a Porsche yourself. At the same time, however, we can enhance this unique driving experience with smart digital innovations — beyond the vehicle itself”. After 70 years of sports car tradition, we are constantly asking ourselves: what will the next 70 years bring? The development of the Porsche Road Trip App and Porsche 360+ App underlines the modern lifestyle, driven by digitization and focusing on people, that Porsche stands for.

Road trips become a bigger experience — not only for Porsche drivers

Imagine, you want to go to the alps, one of the most breathtaking places in Europe if you ask me. You start by selecting the perfect route with dizzying mountain streets and spectacular lookouts. You can also choose whether you only want to take some spare hours or a whole weekend off.

The app then immediately shows you recommended restaurants and hotels as well as the landscape highlights. The restaurants and accommodation can then be reserved and booked directly through the app and your choices are saved as an itinerary. During your journey you can use the app, no matter if you’re driving in a Porsche or any other car. Porsche Road Trip will be also available in the Porsche Infotainment system, starting with the new 911 in some months.

To get a first peak of the App, you should definitely build yourself your personal route. By defining a route length, a starting point and your preferred compass direction, the algorithm of the app will provide you with a customised circuitous route.

By now, the services of Porsche Road Trip are available in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the USA. The app is available for iOs, free of charge from the App Store. You can find more information at roadtrip.porsche.com.
