The End of “One Size Fits All” in Premium Mobility: Porsche inFlow

Ownership has its responsibilities — at least according to an old saying. For some of us, owning your own house, car or music library is fulfilling. For others, these seem like bold decisions they don’t want to make.

Because they’re not sure if they like to live in the same city for the next 20 years. Or just because ownership seems to take away some of your flexibility and does not necessarily suit your future needs. Or maybe because owning something involves much more than simply buying it — you have to invest precious resources like time and money in maintenance, insurance, service and so much more.

“Porsche inFlow” offers a new, flexible mobility solution

This is especially true when it comes to mobility: The way you move around is highly individual, it depends on the region you live in, your job, your family status and many personal preferences. The good news is: No matter what kind of person you are, digitization will have the right answer for you. At Porsche, we’re eagerly working on innovative mobility concepts that enable our customers and customers-to-be to live the mobility that suits them best.

With Porsche inFlow anyone can “own” a Porsche without owning it. This new service allows customers to simply subscribe to a Porsche: All you need to do is open a mobile app, enter your details and choose your favorite vehicle. It’ll be delivered within a few days.

Flexibility instead of ownership: Porsche inFlow

If that sounds like fiction to you, it is not: We launched Porsche inFlow earlier this year in Germany, in cooperation with the mobility and FinTech startup Cluno. Instead of worrying about application forms, full costs of vehicle ownership or service and maintenance needs, customers can simply sign up and start driving. The whole process from booking and contract conclusion to vehicle management takes place digitally using the Cluno app (iOS). Porsche inFlow is hassle-free and combines monthly costs into one easy payment, offering German Porsche enthusiasts maximum flexibility and convenience. We take care of everything except fuel.

With this new service, we extended our portfolio of innovative mobility concepts. In the future, mobility will be highly individual — that’s why we want to offer our customers new options for vehicle use that are both flexible and attractive. Solutions like Porsche inFlow also help us to give more people the opportunity to live the Porsche spirit. And it works — as Porsche Passport proves in the US.

Flexibility instead of ownership: Porsche inFlow

A new experience for new target groups

Porsche Passport has been Porsche‘s first subscription service and was first introduced two years ago in the US. Since then, customers in Atlanta can subscribe to an all-inclusive, monthly membership program and access up to eight different Porsche cars. They can keep a vehicle as long as they wish. But the service also allows them to switch cars every day: A Porsche Boxster on Monday, a Porsche Cayenne on Tuesday…

Interestingly, the subscription service has attracted younger customers to the brand and contributed to Porsche’s growth in the North American market. Fifty percent of all Porsche Passport subscribers are new to Porsche. This success strengthens our conviction that the future of mobility lies in highly flexible and individual services — the era of “one size fits all” mobility is finally over!
