As we told you in our latest blogpost about Porsche at The Next Web Conference, Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, is one of the hottest technology and startup hubs in Europe — and of course a city that has innovation in its roots. That’s why we’re attending #TNW2019 with partners and tech talks about E-Performance, Digital Business, Design and Connectivity.

SCOPES — driven by Porsche

But Amsterdam is also a city with a rich history and a highly diverse population from 180 different backgrounds enjoying a broad range of arts and culture. From Rembrandt or Vincent Van Gogh all the way to an exciting contemporary art, club and diverse music scene, this city is the perfect fit for SCOPES, driven by Porsche. A space for you and your ideas.

With SCOPES, we created a platform where visions of young driven minds are heard and seen — located on the Veronica Ship in Amsterdam for two weeks. And the best: Tickets are for free.

After our premiere in Berlin, SCOPES is part of the creative scene in Amsterdam this May to start a creators collective with a lasting impact. Our vision: Every partner and event leaves its mark or a story behind and evolves SCOPES Amsterdam each day as an ongoing journey creating a unique experience.

Here are 5 things you need to know about SCOPES:

1. The experience

Time well spent is time spent with people who not only have something to say, but actions to share. At SCOPES you get to know a hand-picked bunch of pacesetters who all celebrate their visions of the future.

2. The course

While capturing the Veronica Ship in Amsterdam, a location brimming with character and history, SCOPES Amsterdam focuses on design and innovation for its Dutch edition during The Next Web Conference.

3. The crew

During two condensed weeks in mellow May, different protagonists of the Dutch creative industries will become skippers for a day and leave another mark or two on this monolith of culture.

4. The engine

SCOPES presents innovative Porsche topics and the people who drive the brand forward every day. A multisensory 3D-sound and light installation introduces the Mission E — the concept car for the first fully electric Porsche.

5. The place

The Veronica Ship has been used since the 1960s as an unlicensed, non-commercial radio station and has long been a stronghold of Amsterdam’s artistic scenes.

SCOPES — Event recommendations for the next days

10.05. Material Minds Exhibition: Material Minds is a future marketplace by SCHUIT where young Dutch designers show off their latest material, products and processes. Visitors find themselves looking at work from forward thinking creators. Rather than just having a dry fair presenting the work, we will transform the ship into a place where sound, light and visuals support the experience.

10.05. Klarpoos x HotMamaHot: Klaproos hosts an event at SCOPES. Being supported by our dear friends from HotMamaHot Catering, we’re having a special live performance from Brass Rave Unit and DJ Boj Tieman. We’re looking forward to a good vibration on the ship. Come by and join us for a dance from live music to hot food and free beer.

11.05. Discover a 360-degree future summer experience hosted by Glamcult. With warmer days just around the corner, it’s time to look ahead to see what the summer has in store for us. In line with our next-up summer theme, Glamcult will provide a 360-degree future summer experience, where different elements will create a welcome breath of fresh air.

11.05. The first edition of UN/COMMON, taking place at SCOPES Amsterdam. UN/COMMON — from the queer minds that also bring you SPIELRAUM and GLAMCULT — offers communal ground to unconventional sounds, visions and voices. The first edition of UN/COMMON takes place at SCOPES Amsterdam, inviting three standout artists for a high-octane, warped and relentless nocturnal (boat) ride. Be prepared for TIJANA T, TORUS & KI/KI!

12.05. Explore classic Porsche models on the NDSM-pier in front of the SCOPES-ship. type7, the daily magazine for those who are driven, invites you to explore beautiful and rare vintage Porsches on the NDSM-pier in front of SCOPES. Discover the undiscovered and create some pictures and stories to take home and share. In addition, type7 will feature some of the best local Amsterdam coffee for a relaxed Sunday by the water.

12.05. ORDER express: Get on the train with an event that keeps going while passengers get off and on. The loveliest people of Amsterdam come together for a fun day with drinks, food and art. Leave your grey environment and join the closing party for an exhibition of movie posters from Ghana. A few posters will be shown on the boat.

Please feel free to visit our website SCOPES.amsterdam for daily updates and many more events coming up or discover our Eventbrite page. You can also stay tuned via Instagram and with the SCOPES newsletter, which keeps you in the loop with all the stuff going on at SCOPES.

See you at the Pier in Amsterdam!
