#FunkeHack 2017 : Meet the winners 🏆

At the first hackathon organized with FUNKE Digital, participants were challenged with the topic “Let the machines talk” and had to come up with innovative solutions for using voice devices (you might have heard — or talked to — Alexa and Google home already).
We managed to bring together 70 people from 10 countries for two and a half days. In the last day were presented 14 different products on how to make machines talk. They covered, for example, solutions to help elderly people in case of emergencies, make online payments faster or to set up personal reminders.
It was not an easy task for the jury to select which teams would receive the prizes. But they made the decision(🎉) and here are the five winners:
“BEST OVERALL” BY FUNKE DIGITAL
FunQ: Skill to connect Alexa/Google home and journalists. Users questions are forwarded to a newsroom where journalists can provide answers to specific questions that many users might have.

DEUTSCHE TELE MEDIEN:“BOT YOUR BUTLER”
VOICIFY: An automatic Alexa Skill creation with Shopify import aimed at helping small and medium business to make their shops available via voice.

“BEST INNOVATION” by UnitB Consulting
DYNAMIKE: An “Interactive Radio Play” for kids where listeners can interact with the main character (Mike). The storyline can be influenced by the listeners (giving commands) and by data (e.g. the weather condition of the listeners location).

AMAZON ALEXA “VOICE OF THE NEWS/NEWS OF THE VOICE”
Sam Silverlake: Real estate bot who will help you find an ideal property with a friendly guidance.

BEST USE OF FUNKE CONTENT DISCOVERY API BY FUNKE DIGITAL TV GUIDE
Mind Funk: Alexa skill that allows users to create their personalized “content feed”.
