As November 9th nears, it is now time for Conservatives to fire their weapons. It is going to be ugly, it is going to be bloody, and it is likely to lead to Democrat control for several cycles. However, America needs a political party committed to limited government, religious freedom, economic liberty, the promotion of freedom globally, general decency, and American Exceptionalism. Without a party that represents this, the American experiment is at risk.
Corey Uhden explains the problem with connecting Trumpism and conservative principles.
No one’s going to care if you rallied to Trump as “the least worst” option. Trump’s campaign is futile and the voters who come to hate the GOP for exalting “a racist, misogynist, xenophobic demagogue” are not going to care if you thought it represented “the least worst” option. They’ll blame you, the GOP, and everyone involved for every slur and they’re already painting a picture connecting Trump’s attitude with conservative principles and policies. It’s not a pretty picture.
Connor D. Wolf says Americans believe the Feds should do less.
“Americans continue to favor a smaller role for government, with 54% saying the government is attempting to do too many things that should be left to individuals and businesses,” the poll stated. “And 41% saying it should do more to solve the country’s problems.”
Private-sector businesses take on a whole host of responsibilities in order to provide people services and products. Supporters often argue businesses are more efficient and responsible while critics contest they are at risk of perverse profit motives. The poll results appear to partially reflect a counteraction to whoever is in office.
