Hello everyone! I would like to take you to the cottage in the middle of the jungles. It is naturally beautiful and suitable for adventurous travelers. If you are looking for a place to chillax, take a sip of coffee or catch some readings, this is not a place you’re looking for! Why? Because there are so many activities to do. (Unfortunately I went there in rainy season and stayed there just one night, so there was not many things to enjoy)

Budecha aka close stars-house in Paka-a yo(Karen) language. It is located in Ban Mae Daet Noi, Kanlayaniwatthana district, Chiangmai where is 111 kilometers away from downtown.

We were taken there by a Song-Teaw –a local bus at Chang puak bus station (without air condition!) around 9 o clock in the morning. It took almost 4 hours to get there. Due to this long journey, the bus often stopped at the local market to let us relax.

She said we could take it free of charge!

After four hours of unable-to-lay our backs, passing through the country roads, and we were finally there. We met the home-stay’s owner who was so kind and generous. Khun Ohm is his name.

Bonfire for late night activity. We did not have a chance to enjoy here but another place.

Lunch time!

Grilled Pork with Sticky Rice ,Northern Thai Meat and Tomato Spicy Dip ,Cucumber Salad with Sausage Vietnamese Style.
Stir Fried Chayote with Egg.

We had a walk, found these leaves, and had no clues what it was called.

We could enter this tree house. It was so high unlike the photo.
It was built without nails. Local intelligence!
It’s supposed to have 3 floors!
Budecha neighborhood is surrounded by persimmon trees.

We planned to visit rice field on the hills but we didn’t finger cross about it. Here it rained. We stayed in and played card games.

Sheriff of Nottingham
Kakerlaken Poker or Cockroach Poker
Dixit

Time for the rice field!!

The narrow trails that Khun Aum Khun Kwang and Khun Dumb took us by an off-road truck was adventurous and we literally were excited!

Here are a lot of persimmon plants.

On the way back, the truck was stuck in mud. Luckily we made it home.

Dinner Time!

We had local food made by k Paka-a yo host. It may look ordinary but it tasted like heaven.

After that, we were taken to a newly-open resort Baan Phati where the owner is a friend Khun Ohm.

I could not remember what his name was but his kindness touched us. Not only he sang and played traditional instrument but also folktales had been told.

Wheat toast. It’s so delicious

Here comes the persimmons! Khun Ohm said that we could eat a whole fruit without peeling it off. We followed his suggestion until the lady owner had come. We were curious what we’d been told about the fruit whether it is edible or not. She said we might try but she never tried to before. Can’t believe that we were fooled!!

The owner’s son finally joined us and play acoustic songs for the grand opening. Klee was his name. He even had his own album called ‘Tay T Bho Glow’.

Rise and shine…

Hate to say this but it’s time to go back to work. We had our breakfast i.e rice porridge with pumpkins. Yes, you heard me right. Porridge and pumpkin. It sound weird, eh? Though It tasted way better than with pork, or chicken. I have to tell my mom about this recipe! LOL

We didn’t take a local bus but we hired a charter car. So expensive but it was worth because we were able to take photos whenever we wanted.

Raining out there!
Though it is rainy season but it feels like cold season.

I enjoyed this trip so much even though it was unbearable during the journey. All of a sudden, our joy was refilled by breath-taking scenery, kind people, delicious food, and nice companies. All of them were enjoyable to have on this trip… Anybody who hasn’t seen their best friends should try to invite them in and have fun together. I promise it was worth it!

All photos were taken by iPhone7, 7 plus, Huawei P9 plus, Sony Camera, etc.
