Congratulations Ron, Michal, Shay, Eran, Yaron, and the larger Kaltura family!

Today we are thrilled to announce that Kaltura, the video cloud platform of choice and our partner for ten years, went public (Nasdaq: KLTR). It is a tremendous milestone for the company as it sets out on the next leg of growth. The IPO gives Kaltura more resources to serve millions of current and future users.

Since the birth of movies a century back, video has provided entertainment to billions around the world. The introduction of TV brought the video to every household. With the Internet, video has evolved from a broadcast tool to an immersive and interactive experience. At work and at home, video helps us connect, communicate, collaborate, work, learn and entertain. Over the past year, Covid-19 sharply accelerated the use of video. As everything became remote, video became the essential tool around the world for connecting with our loved ones, working and earning a living, maintaining our children’s education, or receiving medical care.

In spite of the growing importance and ubiquity of video, enterprise video solutions have largely remained fragmented point solutions, lacking flexibility and interoperability. Kaltura changes that by offering an integrated video-experience-cloud, that provides live and on-demand video SaaS solutions ranging from content management to remote meetings, virtual classroom, cloud TV, and many more.

As in-person attendance at industry events became untenable over the last eighteen months, Kaltura’s robust video infrastructure technology became the foundation for running large events virtually, while providing a similar experience as in-person event attendance. Virtual events also allow many more people to participate and are likely to become mainstream.

We met Ron Yekutiel, co-founder and CEO of Kaltura in 2010 in the early days of the company’s journey and got blown away by his clarity of purpose and thoughts. Kaltura’s world view of the growing relevance of enterprise video instantly resonated with us. We were equally inspired by the competence and commitment of Kaltura’s other co-founders Dr. Michal Tsur, Dr. Shay David, and Eran Etam. Seldom do we come across such accomplished and complementary founding team, whose collective expertise spans every aspect of company building: technology, product, sales, marketing, operations, and most importantly leadership. We are forever thankful to the Kaltura team for giving us the opportunity to partner with them.

Kaltura is a perfect example of how great companies are built patiently brick by brick, never losing sight of the foundational pieces needed to create long-term success. No shortcuts are ever taken. Rock-solid technology, robust product architecture, and delightful product experience are complemented by a razor-sharp focus on customer satisfaction, the result of a fully transparent, collaborative, and caring company culture. Throughout years of the company journey to the IPO, the leadership team collaborated with courage and conviction to address challenges of acquiring customers, driving adoption, building a world-class management team, hiring and retaining best-in-class talent, building robust systems and processes, and growing steadily while retaining company values and culture. Kaltura’s commitment to excellence is exemplary.

We are honored to have partnered with the exceptional Kaltura team. While IPO is a proud milestone for all of us, we have just begun and the best is yet to come!

Onward and Upward!
