Community Fund: welcome Kendrea
We’re excited to introduce you to our new Head of Community at Nexus, Kendrea. Kendrea is going to manage the new Community Fund, be on hand to support community contributions to the mutual and to help our community in any way we can.
As Head of Community Kendrea will be working for the benefit of growing our already thriving community. She has many years of corporate experience in bringing people together under a common goal for future success. Her mission statement is summarised under this one quote; “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together!”
Community Fund
The Community Fund will encourage active participation from our community to progress the mutual further. That might include things like:
- introducing additional staking incentives,
- rewarding community contributions for outstanding work (eg, writing a newsletter or for coordination of the Community Fund),
- employing additional resources the mutual needs,
- incentivising the formation of working groups on specialised topics,
- grants for building on-top of Nexus Mutual or other technical items,
- anything the mutual’s members consider valuable.

Any member of our community could put themselves forward to participate in the multi-sig. We have three community members and three investors joining Rox, our CTO. Results of the snapshot vote can be seen below.

I not only want to help Nexus grow but I wholeheartedly believe in the team with Hugh and Roxana.
Gauthier
Former M&A analyst. Full-time investor in real-estate & crypto. [I] joined as a Nexus Mutual member in early July 2020. Stepped up when market sentiment was very low to keep answering people’s questions and make them understand how amazing Nexus is. Now serving as community moderator. Also, I have been pretty active on BadgerDAO’s forum and discord to educate people before the start of Shield Mining. Here for the long run, can’t wait to see Nexus grow to billions.
Krugman
A few things I have done publicly in the DeFi space: TokenSets as a social trader, run an educational DeFi channel on YouTube called Level Up! DeFi, and recently accepted the role as portfolio manager for Yam Protocol. I joined as a Nexus Mutual member in late July/early August of 2020. Since then I’ve actively participated in claims voting, staking, educational write-ups on Twitter, and helped coordinate between developers and protocols for various initiatives that Nexus has considered. I believe strongly in the future of Nexus Mutual. I have a public and trusted presence in this space and am someone the community can trust as a multi-sig signer.
Lasse Clausen
Lasse Clausen, founding partner of 1kx. First fund to contribute to the Nexus Mutual bonding curve. Active cover underwriter /staker. Some contributions to discussions. Fighting Degen Spartan FUD. Through our full time work as investors we have a good helicopter view of DeFi and the latest developments. That can be helpful in making good decisions for the Nexus Mutual community.
Richard Chen
Partner at 1confirmation. Seed investor, creator of nexustracker.io and @NexusMutualBot on Twitter. Contribute to an ecosystem of projects building on top of Nexus.
Adam Benayoun
Founding Partner @ Collider Ventures. Through my fund, we’ve participated and contributed to the Mutual multiple times since December 2019. We’ve also brought a substantial amount of capital through our Limited Partners.c) As a VC fund, we’re naturally long term partner committed to see Nexus Mutual grow into a multibillion underwriter. But additionally, we’ve already DD’ed and are about to invest in 1–2 products built on top of NXM.
Next steps
Multi-sig participants are currently verifying their addresses. Once that’s done our CTO, Rox, will set up the multi-sig.
The next step will be to implement the one-off mint of 250,000NXM as per community vote (governance proposal #116).
The multi sig participants will sign off on, but not decide, which proposals pass and don’t pass. They will enact the will of the wider Nexus community who can vote with their NXM.
