There are so many reasons to love the Super Bowl: the commercials, the before-game festivities, especially referring to the Puppy Bowl, the crazy amount of insane prop bets available, and, of course, the drinking games. But the Green Tea Shot is for you if you don’t feel like dropping your shot into a glass and want a simple and tasty option while you watch your prop bets slowly materialize.

Green Tea Shot

The origin of the Green Tea Shot is murky, but we know it has nothing to do with actual green tea. What it does have a lot to do with is a sweet, fruity, delicious green-hued shot. Drink responsibly, people.

What You Will Need

½ ounce Jameson Whiskey: you can use another whiskey, but why would you?

½ ounce peach schnapps

½ ounce sweet and sour (and yes, this too is simple to make — it is a 1:1 ratio of granulated sugar and water — so if you can boil water, you can make simple syrup)

Top with lemon-lime soda

What To Do

Add whiskey, schnapps, and sweet and sour into a shaker with ice. (You have now realized a shaker is essential to your drink-making adventures). Shake until a film of ice appears on the outside of the shaker or until you feel an adequate time has elapsed.

Strain into a shot glass.

Top with a small amount of lemon-lime soda.

Cheers!

Players’ Props to Watch

Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs

There are so many Super Bowl props for Kelce that people really need to calm down.

Let’s just look at the most interesting Super Bowl game props: These props and odds are taken from FanDuel Sportsbook. Always shop around for the best odds and your personal best props!

· Travis Kelce Super Bowl MVP +1700

· Travis Kelce under 6.5 receptions (+120)

You are going against the odds on this one. Betters are going with his postseason resurgence. Kelce has averaged 7.67 receptions in the Chiefs’ three playoff games.

Now, why you might go against the grain: the San Francisco 49ers allowed the fifth-fewest passing yards per attempt during the regular season. Last week, they limited rookie sensation Sam LaPorta to nine receptions.

This season, Kelce had games where he accumulated 81,83, and 91 receiving yards without having seven receptions.

Last year in the Super Bowl, Kelce had 81 receiving yards and a touchdown but only six receptions.

Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco

It doesn’t matter whether you think of him as a “game manager” or a “game changer.” Purdy is in the Super Bowl, and 30 other NFL starting quarterbacks cannot say that!

· Brock Purdy Super Bowl MVP +220

Purdy sits behind only Patrick Mahomes (+125) as the favorite to win the MVP.

· Brock Purdy over 12.5 rushing yards (-135)

During the regular season, Purdy averaged 6.28 rushing yards a game. In his postseason games, he has averaged 17.2 rushing yards per game.

Last week in the NFC Championship game, Purdy rushed for 48 yards. That was the second-highest rushing total of his career.

The Chiefs have played two of the most mobile quarterbacks in the NFL in their last two games. Both led their teams in rushing yards. In the divisional round, Josh Allen had 72 yards on 12 attempts. In the Championship round, Lamar Jackson had 54 yards on eight attempts.

More comparable to Purdy is the Wild Card round with Tua Tagovailoa. The Chiefs allowed Tagovailoa 25 rushing yards on three attempts.

50/50 Bet? Or Is It?

The coin toss bet (From cbsnfl.com)

No prop bet is more of a 50/50 proposition than the flip of a coin, but the results haven’t been 50/50 historically. Tails has come up 30 times over 57 previous games at a rate of 53%. Recent results also favor tails as it has come up in seven of the last 10 Super Bowls, including the Chiefs’ victory last year.

Super Bowl LVIII

This is just your friendly reminder to bet and drink responsibly. You are important.
