In the fourth edition of the Artist Spotlight from the NFT Malayali Community, we have an interesting soul with us. A creative soul who displays a real craze for digital art mixed with minimalism and simplicity. We are delighted to present Ratheesh Radhakrishnan Pannikkara Maruthoor, mostly and always referred to as the Rathz :) His eye for simplicity & crazy creativity is very well depicted in the choice of his name let alone his mesmerizing works.

The tale of an illustrious career starts at the age of 22, when a commerce stream dropout manages to reach Dubai with no degree, support, or possible job contacts but only Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop & the burning urge to succeed in life. The reality of life engulfed him but life went on. Rathz was able to join a small design house that indulged in small-time printing works and called it advertising. The place was more or less resting on him soon. Thus, in the absence of a mentor, he resorted to tutorials & design books. Fast forward and today Rathz is part of one of the best advertising agencies in the world as senior creative bagging some of the accreditations in the field.

Many of us have a point where we feel inspired to take something up as our career or rather a life. The year 1999, Mummy the movie was one such incident in Rathz’s life. When he heard that Maya was utilized for the same, he badly wanted to learn the same. Although neglecting the fact that owning a pc was considered a super luxury at the time or the absence of a tutor, Rathz went ahead and procured a guidebook that talked about the basics of Maya. Gradually from his day job, he realized his dreams of a pc and soon Maya as well. That was just the start. He then moved to Bryce, 3DS Max, Poser, Modo, and finally to C4D as well.

“ I don't use all these tools in my day to day job in advertising, even though I learnt them. Its purely the passion and love for art that drives me to push my boundaries & learn more “ , Rathz smiles

The Tale of Crypto Hearts & KerArt Series

In the words of Rathz, the Crypto Hearts are unique and abstract hearts thriving in the crypto platform. Each and every piece of the same is unique and sculpted to the dot. Just like a canvas posing an endless possibility to a traditional artist, the crypto heart is just the same for Rathz. There is a shine in Rathz eyes as he calls out crypto hearts, hiding unlimited and never-ending venues from a personality or superstar to a brand or an incident.

It all started a few years ago when Rathz crafted 5 designs of crypto hearts and posted them up in his Behance which was featured twice. With the whole NFT wave capturing the world, Rathz made more and more crypto hearts and have sold 149 pieces so far.! “ I will be adding more with more prominence to Idea than just beauty “ — Rathz added.

KerArt series is a South Indian Toy Characters. Featured by Behance in 2016, many of these are based on the art forms of Kerala, a south Indian state. As time goes by, Rathz looks forward to expanding this idea further in order to bring in diversity and inclusion from all around the globe.!
