The Stanley Cup Finals: Predictions
It now all comes down to two teams after almost two months of punishment. The Florida Panthers and the Vegas Golden Knights play for hockey’s biggest prize and one of the hardest trophies to win in sports.
Both teams have never won the cup before and they both have made it to the finals twice now. Vegas has done it more recently than the Panthers as their last time was back in 1996 when Vegas was just a glint in Commissioner Gary Bettman’s eyes. But now is the time for a battle for the ages between two big, fast, skillful teams.
Florida Panthers vs Vegas Golden Knights
So this series should be a long one just because both teams have proven so far in the playoffs that they can fight back from anything. Florida has only lost one game since going down 3–1 in their series to Boston. Vegas on the other hand has had to knock off the Oilers and Dallas which at times was harder than what the Panthers had to do.
I think they both have advantages in different areas of the ice and because of this are very evenly matched. Florida is stronger in goal with Bobrovsky playing out of this world and one of the main reasons the Panthers are in the Finals. Vegas has the advantage slightly in size and being able to have four lines of dangerous scoring. If they can find a way to shut down the Panther’s two top lines they have a chance to win it all. The X factor that might change everything is Matthew Tkachuk. The man is on a mission and always seems to come through when the Panthers need someone to step up. I don’t think Vegas will be able to stop him and I also think that Adin Hill (the rookie goalie for Vegas) will come down to earth and be beatable.
Florida in Six
This series will be very close in scoring and come down to a few bounces here and there. Florida has been getting lots of luck throughout the Playoffs so maybe it will run out or this will cap off a magical run for the ages. Only time will tell. Anyway you look at it I’m excited for tonight!
