Hello all! So over the past 3 weeks or so, I along with a few fellow classmates, have been researching tactics on starting a YouTube…… Hello all! So over the past 3 weeks or so, I along with a few fellow classmates, have been researching tactics on starting a YouTube channel. We watched many different videos, from a variety of channels. This helped to give us a view from many angles on how the created an audience and managed to keep them interested throughout the video. Next, we tried to compile all these ideas into one document to all add to as a group; however, this never was accomplished.

Blog 9–29

Quick weekly update: This past week our group has worked on researching YouTube videos. We watched many different videos from many…different channels. While watching these videos, we took notes. We took notes on what made these videos popular, or why the YouTuber was famous. In addition to taking notes on the good qualities, we also took notes on what could be improved. Throughout the next week, we plan to put all our info into one document with the possibility of having a channel teaser. The last week has been has been a lot of work, just not much to document.

I have had personal interviews with about 20 random peers so far and have been inquiring about the most loved aspects of mobile gaming and what keeps players hooked. In addition to this, I have been doing extensive internet research into marketing and previously successful apps.

Blog 3 — Proposals

I’m going to present the proposal for a new personal project in Innovations class on Monday. This project will be researching successful…aspects of pastime mobile games and surveying people on what they would like to see in them. I will then develop gameplay for a new app that I plan to start making in about 4 weeks, and apply my research to it. This preliminary research project should take about 3 weeks and hopefully I will be able to formulate gameplay and an idea that I both love, and find creative, as well as be able to set it up for success.

YouTube Branding/Twitter Training

This past week I worked with some fellow classmates to plan and create a YouTube channel. We have decided to create a following and inform…others on new technology and geek related things. We started planning on our first video series on Tuesday, choosing to build a quad copter. A quad copter is a flying device that is created to carry a camera and film over headshots. We had originally had the idea of buying one…however, to combine our channel and the quad copter, we decided to do a building log on the channel. In addition to the YouTube channel, we talked about Twitter this week.
