Creating your own palette allows you to have quick access to your most commonly used objects.

Step 1

Open the My File System object and go to C:\Centraline and right-click and select New > PaletteFile.palette.

Create Palette

Click the folder icon in the palette sidebar and click Browse and find the new palette you created.

Open Palette

Step 2

Click the sidebar icon (see below) and select palette from the menu.

Palette Sidebar

You should now have two palette sidebars open.

Under My File System go to C:\Centraline and find the new palette you made, double-click on it to open its Wire Sheet view.

Step 3

Now all you need to do is copy and paste objects from other palettes into the one you just made.

As an example, in one of the palette sidebars open the kitControl palette.

Right-click on a folder in the kitControl palette, select copy and then right-click in your palette’s Wire Sheet and select Paste.

Add to palette

All of the components are now in your palette. You can repeat this process to copy the most commonly used objects into your palette.

Make sure to select File > Save All to save your palette.

Common Palettes

Some common palettes that you might want to copy from:

  • kitControl
  • kitPx
  • bajaui
  • alarm
  • history
  • schedule

To close one of the sidebars when you have finished, click the down arrow next to the word Palette and select Close.

Reuse items

Copying from one palette to another is useful but you can also copy other objects such as software folders you have written into your palette. This means that if you are reusing the same piece of software in other projects you can copy it into the palette and then drag and drop it out of the palette every time you want to use it.
