NFT collections can only succeed with the full backing of community members. Yet some NFT collections are unsure how to encourage and reward community members to perform certain actions. Dori Samurai, a unique anime-inspired collection, solved these problems by partnering with us to editionize and distribute NFT-backed editions of their NFTs — Dori 481 and 315.

Let us look at who Dori Samurai is and the benefits it gained from this campaign.

Who is Dori Samurai

Dori Samurai is an AI-based NFT collection of 888 pieces on the Ethereum Blockchain. The Azuki NFT collection and Japanese art inspired its street-style artwork.

Dori Samurai was founded by an anonymous artist named Dori, who was born and raised in the UK and is passionate about NFTs and Web3. Dori founded the Dori Samurai collection alongside his co-founder Chaz, the Alpha Lead at Taiji Labs, in charge of outreach at Steady Stack, and the head ambassador of AlphaSharksNFT.

Meet Dori 481

Dori 481 is part of the 888 Gen 1 Dori collection. It has the attributes of a normal Dori and depicts a samurai with long brown hair wearing rough, dark overalls.
To encourage and reward holders for staking their NFT in their community, the Dori Samurai team made editions of this NFT by locking it up in a smart contract vault on our platform and creating ERC1155 editions linked to it.

NFT-backed editions are editions of an NFT fully backed by the parent NFT.
As a protocol and NFT collection, NFT-backed editions will let you grow your community, make community members more active, and incentivize users, just as they’re helping Dori Samurai.

Why did Dori Samurai editionize Dori 481

Immediately after launching their staking platform, Dori Samurai editionized Dori 481.
It made Dori 481 editions to reward holders staking their NFTs. It gave out editions of Dori 481 to 20 random community members who had staked their Dori NFT on their platform.
These editions were a vital marketing tool that helped Dori Samurai announce their staking process and incentivize community members to stake their NFTs.

Meet Dori 315

Dori 315 is also part of the 888 Gen 1 Dori collection. It depicts a samurai wearing a punk hairstyle, rough, black overalls, and a black mask.
The Dori Samurai team made editions of Dori 315 to reward participants of a Twitter PFP competition and encourage community engagement.

Why did Dori Samurai edition Dori 315

To get more eyes on their Gen 2 project, Dori Samurai launched a PFP competition on Twitter, asking participants to change their PFP to Dori 315 NFT, among other tasks.

This led to over 150 persons changing their PFP and performing other tasks listed in the tweet above.
Dori Samurai editionized Dori 315 to reward all participants of this PFP competition. It rewarded 100 random participants with Dori 315 fractions and five lucky participants with five whitelist spots for their Gen 2 collection.
These editions helped Dori Samurai market their Dori 1776 collection so effectively that it sold out within 90 seconds of launch.

How our partnership went

Our partnership with Dori Samurai was a massive success as the Dori team achieved all they set out to. Let’s consider the benefits of the two editionized NFTs differently.

Dori 481

By editionizing Dori Samurai 481, they encouraged more community members to stake their NFTs. Also, they made a large section of the NFT community aware of their novel staking platform. Dori 481 editions also introduced many people to NFT-backed editions, as there was lots of curiosity and enthusiasm.

Note that Dori Samurai #481 NFT has already been bought out. Someone bought it out, bridged it back to Ethereum, and decided to stake it on Dori staking platform. Read more on our buyout mechanism here.

Dori 315

Editionizing Dori 315 with the double intention of rewarding participants in the Twitter PFP competition and spreading the word about their Dori 1776 collection was successful.

The PFP competition involved people changing their PFP to Dori 315 and quoting the tweet below with ‘Excited for Gen2 #1776.’

Thanks partly to Dori 315 editions, the Dori 1776 (Gen 2) sold out in just 90 seconds. Over 150 people who participated in the PFP competition changed their PFP to Dori 315, and 100 of them were rewarded with Dori 315 editions; also, five people were awarded five whitelist spots of the Dori Samurai 1776 collection.

Conclusion

To encourage holders to stake their NFTs and engage on Twitter, Dori Samurai took advantage of the utilities of NFT-backed editions by partnering with us to editionize and distribute Dori 481 and 315 editions. This partnership helped them achieve these objectives by increasing the number of holders who staked their NFTs and shooting up their engagement level on Twitter. The editions also made the community members feel appreciated and incentivized.
