Nibbl partners with Polygon punks to editionize Alien Hoodie Polygon Punk

On 3rd August 2021, 10,000 PolygonPunks were minted into existence. These Punks made history as the world’s first Punks on Polygon, the real OG punks of the Polygon Network.

They created an appealing alternative to Crypto Punks because of the latter’s exorbitant price. PolygonPunks collection is cheaper and on Polygon — one of the fastest and most cost-efficient networks.

To continue their goal of making NFTs accessible to everyone, the PolygonPunks team editionized Alien Hoodie with us.

Who is Alien Hoodie Polygon Punk?

Alien Hoodie Polygon Punk is a super-rare 1/1 Punk on Polygon. It’s a 1/1 art that combines the rarest traits of the Punk ecosystem and there’s no Alien Hoodie trait in the Cryptopunk collection either. This makes the Alien Hoodie more valuable and scarcer than NFTs in the Polygonpunks collection. However, it is hard getting different people to own a 1/1 art. To overcome this challenge and give thousands of people the pleasure of owning a super-rare Punk, PolygonPunks decided to make NFT-backed editions of it on Nibbl.

What are NFT-backed Editions?

NFT-backed editions are ERC-1155 editions of an NFT backed by the original NFT.
On Nibbl, you create editions of an existing NFT by locking it up in a smart contract vault, then issuing editions that are backed by the original NFT.

To editionize Alien Hoodie PolygonPunk, PolygonPunk will first lock it in a smart contract vault, then make editions that are backed by the original Alien Hoodie Punk. These editions will represent ownership of the original super-rare Alien Hoodie Punk.

PolygonPunks will make 1000 editions, each costing 5 Matic, and then launch them today, 20th March 2023. 250 editions will be airdropped to different partners immediately after the launch.

After editionizing this Punk, we’ll distribute the editions to 10 users and community members of selected partners of PolygonPunks. We’ve already released some teasers on Twitter and the partners’ communities.

After the giveaway, the Alien Hoodie Polygon Punk editions will be available for anyone to trade on OpenSea, as well as on Nibbl which allows instant liquidity of these editions; and still, be entitled to the same utilities as the previous winners. Also, anyone can buy out the original NFT and make it whole again after 01/02/2028.
