Income Report for April 2015
Hey guys! Has it really been another month already? Time sure flies when you’re busy. Unfortunately for me busy didn’t translate to highly productive. I’ve been having some creative blocks this past month. I’m sure the writers among you are familiar with this, but it happens to developers as well. For me it’s been finding a way of simplifying a very core part of the software product I’m developing for the user. Both on the conceptual level and on the presentation level. I still haven’t found the way to solve my problem, but for now, I’ve decided to use a temporary solution, that might not as intuitive, but it lets me proceed with development. Maybe I’ll get an idea later down the line. The important thing here is that I don’t stop and keep pushing forward.
Because, I’ve been focusing on solely this project, I haven’t been doing anything with my niche sites, as you can see from the income table below:
NW1 did bring in a few dollars, but sadly it was not enough to cover the costs of its domain renewal. I think it will in a couple of months, which is the reason why I didn’t let it go.
You can also see that I bought the PBN Course by Doug Cunnington of Niche Site Project and Lewis Ogden of Cloud Income. I’ve been following these two guys for a while now and they really know what they’re talking about. Unfortunately I haven’t yet had the time to look at the course, but I know I’ll need something like this when I decided give NW2 a makeover.
You may also notice a new entry. Atlassian JIRA, is pa project management service which I now use for practically every part of my business, which is mostly the development of my software product at this point in time. I’ve tried a lot of different tools like Trello, Pivotal Tracker, FogBugz, and a few others, but in the end I reverted to what I was using back at my day job. JIRA is very configurable, so I was able to set it up just the way I like it. It was a bit of a hassle, but now it works beautifully and lets me focus on actually doing the work rather than planning it.
Totals
Not much change in the totals table from last month. A few bucks here and there, but with a total change of 13 dollars, it’s not event worth diving into.
Over to You
This concludes another short income report. You might be wondering why I actually keep bothering to write these if I’m not doing anything with niche sites. Well the answer is two-fold. One side of it is to keep track of what I’m doing for the future. If anyone asks me in 10 years how I came to that point in my career, I can just point them to these posts. The other, more personal side, though, is to simply give myself a kick in the butt. Writing these always gives me a bit of motivation to move forward.
Cheers, Goran!
