Daydreaming can be the cornerstone of wonderful ideas that lead to living real dreams, or it can lead to a paradox of laziness that sucks time away like a vacuum, making us wish that it was possible to achieve dreams others are now living.

The Truth is…

…being able to daydream is a gift. To envision dreams of fun, happiness, and success is nothing short of a blessing. But like all things that are blessings, if you use them improperly and without righteous purpose they can be a detriment rather than a helpful tool.

How Is Daydreaming Unhelpful?

Have you ever listened to music for hours and hours on end while thinking about goals and dreams, just laying in bed? I have. Now with that being said, have you ever done those multiple days in a row? I have.

However, let me be clear, listening to music for long periods is not bad. Neither is it bad to lay in bed and just chill. Sometimes you just feel the need to relax.

How Daydreaming is misused is when we ponder about things we want to do and become, without doing anything about it. We only have so much time on this adventurous, beautiful earth, and if we use that time to envision an awesome life without doing anything about we are going to live with regret and growing self-doubt.

We live in a world where it is easier to dream rather than to create a reality where those dreams are looked upon with our physical eyes.

I have felt that way many times. It is difficult to dream big and then wake up realizing that the distance towards making them real is a daunting and even sad feeling. Making it so we go back to our dreams because they are always with us close by. There we find ourselves stuck in a paradox of joy without satisfaction. Dreams that spend time, without time being used.

That is the bad part because Daydreaming is only effective when it provokes our hands to work to make hopes and dreams come true. That is where the satisfaction will come.

How Is Daydreaming Helpful?

Well, I just said it. Day Dreaming is only effective when it provokes our hands to work to make hopes and dreams come true.

It reminds me of this song called “Lighters” by Bad Meets Evil, which is a duo consisting of Detroit rappers Eminem and Royce Da 5'9". In Eminem’s verse there is a line that I love very much. It reads “ Had a dream I was king, woke up, still king”.

Read that again… “Had a dream I was king, woke up, still king”

Talk about bars! That is what Day Dreaming is about. To inspire yourself to live them. To work hard for those things that bring you happiness. Only to be working for your dreams so much, that you wake up from a focused grind and hustle mentality, realizing that you are already living your dream.

So when you find yourself drifting off into space thinking about your deepest desires, and living the perfect life, make sure you accompany those thoughts with actions.

Whether it is writing them down as they come to your mind, or thinking about them as your working out. Training your body to act upon the good desires of your heart, so that your actively putting your dreams out into the world a little at a time. That way time can be spent and used to its fullest extent.

In The End…

It is up to you to get up and put your thoughts out in the universe and make them a reality. Remember, being chill and laying in bed thinking about the wonderful life you want to achieve is not bad. Just make sure you are taking the same amount of time you use to think about it, to do something about it.

You can achieve anything you set your mind to. Once you do that, the body will follow and you will be on your way to accomplishing the dreams you may have thought were never possible.
