How to Play Audiobooks on the HomePod

One of the limitations of the Apple HomePod is it cannot access your Audiobooks library to play audiobooks for you. This is not ideal, since Amazon Echo can read Audible books aloud. Having recently switched my smart speakers to HomePod, I’m happy to have finally found a solution.
- Sync your Audiobooks to your iOS device
- Start playback on each of the audiobooks
- Open Shortcuts and verify that the Read actions have been populated
- Create a shortcut for each of the audiobooks
- Ask Siri to read you one of the books
