Most Romantic -Namma Bengaluru! — 21 must visit places
Well , I’ve been thinking for a long time that I had to write about these few popular destinations among the “Lovers” of Namma Bengaluru. Am not talking about the “happening” pubs or Cafes that we all know of. Those can be googled anytime :). I am talking about the nostalgic “Addas” that have been existent from a very long time! These spots are not just fancy or commercial. They have been there and will always be — The best spots for our lovers anytime!
I am not rating them, I have just numbered because I am sure they are all nostalgic in their very own ways . So, please scroll down with patience, I am sure your special spot is in my list too! :) Here we go!
- Ulsoor Lake -Halasuru/ Ulsoor
I kept this on top, as it should be. One of the oldest and biggest lakes in Bengaluru. This lake is said to have been existent from the Kempegowda times, so it’s a legacy.
Today the place is quite commercialized with a lot of small time eat outs within and around the area, different types of boating activities within the lake premises. Years back, it used have just a few pedal boats for couples, with a calm and peaceful environment.
No matter how commercialized it could get, it still remains one among the popular destinations, our lovers would love to go to :)
2. Lalbagh -
Am sure you would have guessed this !
Lalbagh or Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, meaning The Red Garden in English.
How much more beautiful can it get? This is what you will say when you look at Lalbagh. All time and anytime the best treat for your eyes! Go see it yourself for the ‘nth ’ time !
This garden has been existent from the Tippu Sultan times!
And yes, from back then and even now, it is one of the most visited places for couples in Bangalore.
3. Cubbon Park -Kasturba Road
You knew this was coming right after Lalbagh ! Then you are absolutely right! Again one the oldest parks in Bangalore , existent from the times of British Rule. This Lush green park is about 300 acres and what more does a Romance need? :) One of the most scenic locations of all times.
4. Sankey Tank -Malleshwaram
One of the treasures of Malleshwaram apart from its beautiful temples.
Sankey Tank has always been one of the favorites among the lovers implicitly. It seems so natural and complacent though man made.
5. Nandi Hills -Chickballapur town
This would have been right on top of the checklist for the new bees of Bangalore. Though it is situated 60 Km away from the city, we don’t really consider it to be out of the city. This is indeed one of the most loved romantic destinations that I can never miss out on being a part of my article. Drive/Ride to Nandi Hills and watching the most beautiful sunrise, these are the two amazing things about this place.
6. Cool Joint -Jayanagar 4th block
One of the popular and oldest joints among the Guys and Gals of Bengaluru. Though it seems crowded and noisy most of the time, we love being there.
7. Bagmane Tech Park -C V Raman Nagar
I am not sure if I am causing trouble here by including a tech park in the list but yes, this is indeed one of the most romantic tech parks in Bangalore. Not just for the techies who work inside the tech park but also for the outsiders.
8. Amoeba — Church Street
Though there are several other branches of Amoeba in Bangalore, we can never give up on the good old Church Street one … It has always been on top of the list.
9. Café Coffee Day -Mysore Road
Café Coffee Days have always been the topmost meet up points for lovers but this one, at the Bangalore- Mysore Road is very special in many ways. Several factors like the beautiful drive towards this place , a quick get — away from the traffic to get a peaceful lounge seating with less crowd and a good Frappe all the time!
10. Madiwala Lake -Madiwala
This place never disappoints the crowd around BTM, Koramangala or HSR anytime! A scenic adda amidst the silk board traffic and rush hours around the area.
11. Agara Lake -Agara
Another one of the best locations that not many people are aware of. This lake goes along with the road that connects to HSR/ Koramanagala locations. You must have passed this lake several times when you were seated in your cab on the way back home after a long working day. Yes this is another romantic destination that is worth a look.
12. Forum Mall -Koramangala
I know there are plenty of malls in the city but this was one of the first of its kind. This was one of the first malls to offer a movie ticket for less than a 100 bucks for all of its first shows of the day on weekdays. PVR! Ever since became the only destination where we could bunk our classes and go to watch a movie as early as 10AM and still save bucks to grab a burger from McDonald’s after the movie! All time favourite couple hang out- Am sure you have been there too :)
13. Bugle Rock -Basavanagudi
South Bangalore! This has been the most visited park for couples from the south side of Bangalore that’s filled with happening colleges and beautiful residential colonies.
14. Namma MTR-Banashankari 2nd stage
This is again one of the popular destinations around the south side . A quick ice cream from a large range of menu in affordable prices with cute tables and chairs on the first floor . The destination is famous among the college students around the area .
15. Lakshmidevi Park -Koramangala
Nostalgic for most of the Bangaloreans it is! There is practically nothing different that I can describe about this park other than it being well maintained and beautiful. All that I can say is, it sure has seen a lot of couple from all ends of Bangalore.
16. Popsies -Chinese Restaurant- Koramangala
I know I am not being fair here with the Chinese restaurants as there are many many more happening ones in the city! Well, I have to talk about Popsies specially here because it has been one among our list of most visited lovers’ hang- outs. With sufficient seating arrangements in a quiet and dark environment that serves delicious Chinese food in very affordable prices.
17. Rex Theatre -Brigade road
One of the oldest movie theatres in Bangalore. Even before all the PVR cinemas and Fame cinemas came into picture. This theatre must have seen couples from generations :)
18. Corner house Ice creams -Indiranagar
Again with multiple outlets in the city, all being equally popular, Indiranagar tops the list, mostly because it is situated along the roadside of the residential locality and has a nice tree right outside the building with a slab around the tree where usually people sit by the roadside enjoying their delicious ice creams in their take -away cups.
19. Jimi’s Beer Café — Indiranagar
Jimi’s being one of the oldest pubs around the area still manages to be top on the list in the area like Indiranagar that has city’s best restaurants and pubs. An all time favourite for couples and group of friends aswell.
20. Rasta Café -Kalyan Nagar/ Mysore Road
One among the newest and already managed to enter the list. Beautiful ambience and good list of events. The Mysore road branch is known for late nights while the Kalyan Nagar branch is ever youthful.
21. Bengaluru International Airport -Devanahalli
Last but not the least — International Airport . Drive towards Airport is the most beautiful one. Mostly people like to go for a drive during late nights when there is no traffic and take a long rest at the Airport. One of the most loved destinations for couples in Namma Bengaluru!
