The term democracy comes from the Greek language, it means “rule by the people” and Abraham Lincoln re-defined it as «Government of the people, by the people, for the people». Which people are we talking about here. Politicians are supposed to be one among all of us. They have no right to decide and act against any public. There is should not be anything called “mango public” — aam aadmi .. everyone should be aadmi. Past 48 hours two incidents have been reported where politicians taking advantages of their positions, denying the public rights.

número uno -Nirmal, Kiran and Air India: Minister of state — Kiran Rijiju delayed the state run air craft for his boarding even-when it is known that late take offs from Leh airport invites a greater safety risk. Air India has offloaded a family having confirmed tickets to accommodate the VIP. In this incident, the aam admi was not really aam. IFS officer GV Srinivas and family suffered due to the great attitude from the so called public servants. The minister apologized on the same later point of time after a social media break out. Safety risk in Leh is that, it is the highest airport in India and the air density become lower and it is more difficult for an aircraft to gain lift in the late part of the evening.

numero dos - AIAD MK Stalin’s cuddling the fellow passenger: “In the video, which was being circulated on social media by the AIADMK, Stalin is seen angrily asking a passenger to move and then lightly slapping him with the back of his hand”,as reported by Indian express on June 3rd.

The point here is every mango admi has got equal rights to public transport systems and access to public places. No ‘son of a politician‘ has any rights to deny it for his on advantage or disadvantage. World has evolved, generation has moved, radios has gone, video calls have arrived, porn-hub is making movies in the space — the only group will always remain static and void is the politician.

Two incidents happened with me on this lines:

I was travelling alone from Kollam to Bangalore six months back in Kochuveli express. When i boarded the train, there was already a politician seated in the same cube as that of mine in a 3rd AC compartment. He was wearing the Khadar shirt. He talked to me and claimed himself as some local area secretary from Trichur. After a while a group 3 men boarded the train from Alleppy. The men were completely drunk and one of them(Santosh) was talking continuously more than he could. They have started drinking beer even inside the train. They offered beer to me and the politician, both of us refused. Santosh kept on talking about various things in life. They were in Alleppy for one day house boat party, returning to Palakkad; They work in some mining company which is located in a stationary ship in the Arabian sea. They talked about their 28 day hardships that they face in the in-mine tenure every alternative month. They seemed to very well off, tax paying citizens — it was just that they were drunk.

Santosh kept on drinking and even he offered drinks to the TT. Politician being a public servant, Santosh asked him for his number and said, he can call him in case there is any need. This politician denied to give the number to Santosh as he would disturb him unnecessarily. Santosh put a very good question back — “If you cannot share your number — what the fuck public service are you doing?.. you are not Ooman Chandy. Arent you?

As per me the question is very well valid and significant — someone claims to be pubic servant, but do not want to share service-number. Hearing the four letter word, the politician got really agitated big time and threaten Santosh that he would call the police. Santosh was happy and said “anyways i cannot drive back home from Palakkad railway station, i will be comfortable in police station night out”. The politician didn't say a word, and alighted train somewhere near trichur. See the attitude of the person here, he is not even an MLA and this is the behavior.

Second incident, again in same train on 2nd AC, while i was travelling back from home with my family. Whenever we travel, we take 3 tickets — my wife and younger child sleep in one berth and myself in second and my elder son (8 year old) in the 3rd birth. During that travel, we had one lower birth and two upper berths. Around 1230 midnight, the TT waked me up and said, if I could spare a berth for someone else. I said, “I have paid for the tickets, why should I spare, and who wants it?”. TT said — its for an Ex MP. I would have easily given it if it was for an Ex Army Jawan. Looking at the claimant; he was over 50 years of age; I said to the TT that, I can spare one berth, provided if he get me a lower berth so that myself and my elder child can sleep together. TT went away and never returned. In the morning I see a well-known political celebrity of Kerala sitting on a side berth — while I was passing by he stared at me as if i have asked him to donate his kidneys.Mostly the TT would have told him about me denying a berth.

I am frequent traveler of 2nd AC coach in bangalore-kerala route. I have seen many of them travelling in AC coaches. If they really want to know what are problems faced by aam admi, they should not be travelling in 3rd AC or 2nd AC compartments. Of all the public servants, i think the politicians are the main ones that can make or influence decision for well being of the citizen, their act of static and void is just not acceptable
