Movie: John Wick

This is the type of movie that I like to call “time waster” as it’s a movie that doesn’t require much thought when watching and can be easily seen while having nothing else to do or just want to watch some explosions and people being killed, not that the news casts have this already covered. It does have certain areas of comedy added, at least they should get a chuckle out.

This story revolves around an ex-hitman, as in every other hitman style movie, who is feared by pretty much everyone and referred to as the one you call when you want to kill the bogeyman, that has to get back in the business because they killed his loved one. So yeah, this is basically a cookie cutter style movie where they pretty much just followed the recipe and changed the names.

Keanu Reeves delivers a really good acting as the John Wick character, the type of badass character that gets shot then fights a whole army of villains to later remember he was bleeding. Guessing he will be included in one of the Expendables movies later on, are they going to be making more of those?

In this instance his wife, the reason that he left his hit man work because why else would you leave such a job, dies of sickness and then he receives a puppy from her via mail, didn’t know you could mail those, which is later killed by some Russian mob just to steal his car, which everyone seems to recognize except the dude stealing it, and then comes the shooting and blowing up stuff…and that is pretty much the whole plot right there. We would just need to add that the Russian dude that killed his dog is the son of the mob leader, obviously. Having so much money and power would make you think that there isn’t a point in stealing a car that you could have purchased and fixed to be as good as the one you saw instead of going through the trouble that stealing a car entails. After all it wasn’t like a limited edition that you couldn’t find anywhere else.

I gave it 5 stars on Netflix.
