A couple of months ago we shared why we thought the current project management process was broken. Since then, Nifty has become so much bigger and better from when we started building it over a year ago. It’s exciting to see it constantly evolve and we really appreciate everyone’s love and support!! 🙏

This first quarter since opening the platform to teams has been fantastic so far. We’ve made a ton of improvements already, but we’re only getting started. Which brings me to…

Just the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come

The team here at Nifty is always looking for ways to enhance the project management cycle. To date, we’ve gotten some really great feedback from our early access users that shed light onto big pain points that project managers struggle with regularly. We take all that feedback seriously so stay tuned for more exciting updates!

For this post, I wanted to share some of our biggest updates since opening up Nifty for early access at the beginning of this year.

1. Mobile Apps

Nifty Mobile — looks nice right? 😄

Probably the biggest request we have had from our users is that they needed Mobile Apps ASAP to keep on top of their work while on the go. Finally they are live, check it out now below!

Here are the links to the respective app stores:
Nifty for iOS
Nifty for Android

2. Team Chat

Nifty Team Chat

Another highly-requested feature was the ability to privately chat with your team members without having to leave your current screen. With Nifty Team Chat, easily connect with any of your team members in one-to-one chats or create a group chat with multiple team members to discuss daily tasks, updates or anything in-between across all your projects.

3. New Kanban View for Tasks

Nifty New Kanban Layout

We noticed that our current List view for Tasks was not the most efficient way to manage your tasks, especially for larger teams who can have dozens of tasks. With our new Kanban view for Tasks, teams are able to horizontally list their tasks to have a much larger field of view over their work flow. Drag and drop tasks from one task list to another to keep the progress rolling!

4. New File and Docs Management

Nifty New Files

We did a complete revamp of how our Docs and Files were managed. Our goal with this redesign was to organize files by file type so our users wouldn’t have to navigate through pages and pages of files that were just thrown into the “Files” folder. Design files, Codes, Spreadsheets, etc. are now all automatically organized through Nifty and can be viewed in a List/Grid view. No more scrolling through an unorganized list of files and wasting time! Check out the preview below!

Nifty New Docs

The Docs screen has also gone through a similar upgrade for better management of documents. Users are now able to search for Docs and view them in a List/Grid layout.

5. Redesigns of User and Team Setting Management

Nifty User and Team settings

Profile Settings for Users and Teams have undergone UX/UI updates to show more details about what projects they are a part of as well as anyone on their team! The Teams Setting has been redesigned to make the team management experience easier. You will now be able to see everyone on your team, their roles as well as what projects they are involved in! Account owners also have a Billing tab to check all billing related details of their account.

6. Notification Settings

Nifty Notification Settings

With the addition of the new Notification settings on the Settings page, users have more control of what they want to be alerted for. Through these settings, users can check which notifications they want to receive across our web app, mobile apps and email.

7. Upgraded Docs collaboration

Nifty Docs

A big thorn in our side when developing our collaborative Docs was keeping it stable. We were having a number of issues with the docs not saving edits properly. As you might guess, recognizing edits from multiple users in real time is not a simple feature to maintain, but with the latest update to Docs, most of the stability issues have been addressed and it should be working beautifully. Not only that, we added a couple more text formatting options as well!

8. Daily Digest Email

Nifty Daily Digest Email

And lastly, a Daily Digest Email has been created for all notifications you might’ve missed or are marked unread such as new tasks, docs and many more updates. Just making sure you didn’t miss anything! 😉

We take your feedback seriously, so please tell us what you think of Nifty and what you’d like to see moving forward. Tweet @niftypm or send feedback directly to team@niftypm.com ✌️

See a list of all updates in our detailed changelogs.
