October Manager of the Month — pnvc
Hello my Nifty people! As it is our tradition to be a month late with the Manager of the Month interview, we introduce to you Mr pnvc!
Hey, glad to have you here in our studio! Let’s start off with you introducing yourself and of course, your team.
I’m Portuguese and sports management games have always been my favourite (been playing since the first Championship Manager). My team name, Lisbon Lions, is named after the team I support in real life: Sporting Clube Portugal.
Which formation and tactics do you use the most?
Normally I use 3-5-2, but in Nifty I’m having more success with 4-4-2.
Which skills do you upgrade for your defenders, midfielders and attackers?
I’m trying to balance everyone, not giving much preference to any position. Of course I focus more on finishing for attackers and tackling for defenders.
Which was your hardest match of this season? Do you have an arch enemy?
Glasgow Thistles and Glasgow Thistles.
How often and when do you change tactics during the match?
If I’m not winning at around 60-70 minutes I change tactics for the team to go high pressing and aggressive. I usually don’t change the formation during games unless there’s a red card.
What’s the most bizarre thing that happened all season? Like your GK scored a goal or you lost a match from 3–0 up.
I subbed in my 2nd keeper and played him as striker to rest my best striker for the next game. The keeper ended with a goal!
How much do you pay attention to fitness and morale?
I try to play everyone and in their best positions to keep most players happy.
Do you attend all your games?
I‘d say around half.
Do you make a lot of substitutions?
I always try to make all three, which helps to prepare for the next game.
What is your opinion of AC Paris, Altrincham Athletic and Brighton Wanderers? Who are in the top four contenders of your league?
I’ve lost to Paris a few times already, don’t have much opinion on the others. The top four in my league are the Lions (my team), Paris, Glasgow Thistles and London AFC.
What is your opinion of other managers? E.g. Nino aka Chandler Bing, Vev Beastly, etc.
Everyone is nice on the Nifty Football Discord and they seem to have good results in their leagues. It will be fun when we start facing each other’s h2h.
