Game of Thrones: Build Your Realm — The Forge Launches March 28th
On Tuesday, March 28th, the next phase of Game of Thrones: Build Your Realm begins with the launch of The Forge. The Forge will allow collectors to create their own rare items, some more exclusive and rare than others, which they can use to customize their Hero Avatars when The Armoury — our upcoming platform update that will allow you to equip and de-equip your avatars — launches later this year.
The Forge allows collectors to burn Resource Cards that create new Equipable Cards representing rare items, including gear, companions, and clothing that have not yet been revealed within the Build Your Realm program, such as the Wight Snow Bear, Stark Shield and Great Hall at Winterfell. When The Armoury launches, these items can be equipped on your Hero Avatar, giving you power to build your own character in this unique digital collectibles experience.
As a reminder, in addition to the Resource Cards collectors received in their Hero Boxes, you can earn one metal, one textile, and one food Resource Card by checking in on niftys.com each day. When you check in for 7 consecutive days, you’ll earn special Resource Cards — Valyrian Steel and Dragonglass — which you’ll need to create some of the rarest equipable items in The Forge.
How It Works
Step 1: Browse available Equipable Cards for the item you want.
Some items will be familiar from existing Hero Avatars, and others will be new. Some items will be more common while others will be more limited.
Step 2: Review the recipe for the Equipable Card you want to forge.
If you’re missing the needed Resource Cards for an item you want, you can earn more resources by checking-in everyday with your avatar, or you can purchase them on the Nifty’s marketplace.
Step 3: Forge your selected Equipable Card!
The required resources will be destroyed, and the new Equipable Card will be minted to your wallet. Please allow a few moments for your new Equipable Card to arrive.
Step 4: Coming later this year, equip the item in your Hero Avatar.
When The Armoury launches, you’ll be able to equip the item represented in your Equipable Card in your Hero Avatar or unequip any items they’re already carrying.
Equipable Cards
There will be items in The Forge you recognize from current Hero Avatars, as well as new, never-before-seen items. Many items will be immediately available on March 28th, while others will be added over time. Be sure to follow Build Your Realm and Nifty’s on Twitter to see when new items are added to The Forge!
Companions
The Forge will include familiar companions such as direwolves, ravens, and even White Walker horses, as well as new companions like Ramsay’s Hounds and the Wight Snow Bear.
Locations
Iconic locations from Winterfell will be available in The Forge, including the Great Hall. Location equipables will allow you to put your Hero Avatar in a new setting when The Armoury opens.
Clothing
You’ll be able to forge clothing that will allow you to change your avatar to a Noble, member of the Night’s Watch, Free Folk and more.
Weapons & Gear
There will be new gear for your avatar including shields with House Sigils from the North. You’ll be able to claim your allegiance to House Stark, Mormont, and (that’s right) even Bolton. You’ll also be able to collect new or super rare weapons and gear such as the Night’s Watch War Horn or Needle.
Nifty’s Recipe Application
The Forge is the first iteration of Nifty’s new recipes application. We hope you love it, but either way we look forward to hearing your feedback. When Nifty’s opens its platform to the public, the recipe application will be one of several interactive experiences you can deploy for any NFT project, and we want to make sure it reflects your input and ideas!
