Doubt

Nothing loses a war faster than doubt

Imagine a group of soldiers standing on a battlefield. Ahead of them, they see a large group of the enemy. The soldiers look to their leader. They remember him leading them to failure many times before. They doubt that they will win this war. When the first few people die, the rest turn and run. And so lose.

People being lead should never doubt that they are being led in the best possible manner. They should never doubt the motives of the general. They should never doubt his ability.

Once doubt creeps in, then grumbles will appear. From a few, it will spread to the rest. And people who doubt what they are fighting for will run when the fighting gets hard.
