About Niice

Niice is a visual collaboration platform for creative teams. It’s used by thousands of creatives around the world every day, including teams at Nike, Urban Outfitters, Industrial Light & Magic and Playstation.

This is how Niice works right now, help us make it even better.

Our goal is to help creatives do their best work. We’re 100% bootstrapped and plan to stay that way, which means we’re not building a company to sell; we’re in this for the long haul. We’re still a small team, so new employees will have a significant influence on the company & culture as we grow.

Our office is in sunny Belfast, Northern Ireland, but we’re a remote-first team so location isn’t an issue. We want to work with the best people, not just the best people in a 10 mile radius.

We’re currently hiring for two roles: a Javascript Developer and a Community Manager.

Javascript Developer

We’re looking for an experienced Javascript developer to develop our core products.

You’ll be working collaboratively with a designer (mostly me for now) to develop and iterate on key features, and you’ll be encouraged to question and improve designs. We’re a very lean team, so you’ll be given a lot of autonomy: you need to be good at managing your own schedule, seeing things to be done and ‘getting on with it’.

We’re looking for someone who gets excited about using the latest technologies, but has enough experience to know when to stick with something tried & tested.

Ideally you’ll have:
• 3+ years developing front end technologies such as React or Backbone
• Experience with building complex styles using SCSS
• Experience using git to source control code
• Proficient skills with the terminal and JavaScript build tooling
• Some experience building apps with Ruby on Rails
• An eye for detail and a love for polishing micro-interactions

Community Manager

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and articulate community manager to help our users get the best out of Niice.

You’ll be getting to know our users, creating content that helps them get more from Niice, and telling their stories. This will involve things like creating tutorials, having regular discussions with our community through social media, creating and curating great original content for our blog and newsletter, helping with customer support, and any other bright ideas you come up with. We want you to own this role, so you’ll be given a lot of autonomy: you need to be good at managing your own schedule, seeing things to be done and ‘getting on with it’.

Ideally you’ll have:
• 2+ years experience in a community manager role or similar
• Fantastic writing & storytelling skills (enjoyable, not just grammatically correct)
• A creative background of some kind (design, photography, etc). If you don’t like ‘artistic types’ you’re probably gonna hate this job.
• Experience with analytics and SEO tools
• Some experience with creating and editing videos
• A good sense of humour

Oh, and your pun game needs to be strong.

How to apply

Send an email to jobs@niice.co with the subject title of ‘Javascript Developer’ or ‘Community Manager’, and include some links to some work you’re proud of. You can send a resume if you really want, but we don’t really care where you went to school… a link to your blog, or profile on Github, Medium, Instagram, Linkedin etc would be more useful.

Also it would be good to know what timezone you’re in!
