NIM Activation Deadline Reminder

NET End of Life

The Nimiq Exchange Token, or NET, is a temporary ERC20 Token. Its sole purpose is to be utilized to activate NIM, the actual transactional unit of the Nimiq Blockchain. The Activation process began months before the actual Mainnet Launch. A cut-off date was also defined for NIM account addresses to be included in the Genesis Block. However, the process after such date was designed to allow continued Activation for users who were unable to do so before. A final deadline for the extended process was first published in the terms of the Activation Tool.

This deadline for NIM Activation is October 14 2018, 11:59 pm UTC-12. After this time Activation of NIM from NET will no longer be supported. This also means that NET will no longer be associated with the utility of the Token of the Nimiq Blockchain. The plan is to immutably stop the NET contract some short time after the Activation deadline.

Maintaining the Activation process consumes considerable resources both monetary and human. For this reason we ask participants to support us as we take NET to its final goal and shift attention to NIM.

We encourage holders of NET to proceed with the process without further delay. We also invite holders of NET to visit our community in Telegram or Discord in case you need support.
