Me and my team were looking for a better way to collaborate on tasks, issues and projects. We didn’t just want to chat in a group we have Jabber for that. We wanted to actually track and perform tasks while keeping everyone involved in the loop. After some research online, we came across a very simple, innovative and ‘free’ way to solve our problem.

Trello uses Kanban system of sorting and managing tasks in the form of different cards. It is a Japanese manufacturing system to get things done. Kanban literally translates to billboard or sign.

The ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time while keeping everything in sync is the best advantage. Trello also offers powerups which are these additional integrations with other services e.g. Evernote etc. that you can add to your board to make the workspace more useful. Here are some of the features welike;

  1. Task check lists
  2. Due dates on Cards
  3. Power ups to integrate with services and get additional features
  4. Phone app and instant notifications
  5. Multiple boards with unlimited cards
  6. Ability to copy checklists over to new cards. This comes handy in making guides for new hires
  7. Cards tags and powerful search capability
  8. Fully customizable cards, lists, boards, tags
  9. Collaborator mentions
  10. All this for Free plus a premium option if you are looking for more.
