The week that lead to The Ninja Squad NFT collection launch

Hello world! We’re the Ninja Squad. Nice to meet you.

This is our very first post to give you a glimpse of the behind the scenes as we counted the last few days to the Ninja Squad NFT collection launch.

Let’s start by sharing that this was the first NFT collection launch any of our team members managed and owned from start to end. And WOW, this was an insane and unforgettable experience for every one of us!

Our team consists of experienced crypto and NFT experts, marketers, developers, community managers and an unbelievably talented illustration artist. This was brand new for all of us but we’re loving the journey.

NFT-verse has no playbook, it’s fast and it’s full of surprises.

Here’s a recap of what the week that lead to the collection launch looked like:

14/11/2021

• We became aware that our smart contract had major issues and needed to be (almost) rewritten from scratch. Imagine the frustration…
• We then found 2 amazing experts to support us with the contract and returned to a more stable pulse. Things seemed to be back on track.
• We had to part ways with our first developer.
• Then we onboarded a new developer.

15/11/2021

• Prepared social posts and Discord announcements for the next day’s big raffle to distribute 23% of the Ninja NFTs.
• Ongoing communications with our network, spreading the word and building the whitelist.
• Someone from the community got a ninja tattoo(!) and became the first person to take their ninja squad commitment to the next level.
• Got our contract audited and passed the audit.

16/11/2021

• Our raffle went live and we started accepting entries.
• To prevent bot attacks and have a fair raffle, we added wallet sign, reCaptcha and tweet verification for the raffle entry process.
• Everything worked perfectly on the technical front, which was a big achievement and relief.
• We saw the scale of interest in our project and our excitement went off the roof.
• Lots of interest and engagement from big NFT communities made our hearts very happy ❤️ (making friends is the best part about this space).

17/11/2021

• We saw the first few hundred randomly generated ninjas and our heart skipped a beat! They were so beautiful.
• Got our contract audited for the second time and passed it again! YAY!
• Lots of work to finalize the whitelist as we would announce it the next day.

18/11/2021

• Announced the final list of addresses with whitelist spots and encountered a reasonable number of revisions and edits. Good news!
• Wrote and finalized the trait names that will be entered as properties on Opensea. This was such a fun activity and we kept getting amazed at how unique and detailed the art was.
• Generated all male and female ninjas and tagged them with appropriate traits, ready to be uploaded to Opensea.

19/11/2021

• Day of launch! We’re all way too excited. Almost jittery!
• Wrote the collection description for Opensea.
• We deploy the smart contract and upload the metadata to Opensea.
• Final revisions in process for everything.

And the countdown begins…
