There’s an old saying that nothing creates a conservative faster than getting married. Once you are married, your priorities change. You no longer have the luxury of indulgent selfishness. There’s at least one other person you have dedicated yourself to valuing at least as much as yourself, and once married you’re likely to grow that number. Once you become responsible for other people as much as for yourself, it truly changes one’s priorities.
