5 Lessons I Learned from Visualizing Audience Growth

In today’s Saturday Stats post, I thought I’d delve into the subject of audience growth.
Medium makes our audience details (numbers only) available for downloading as a csv on the Stats Page. Since I wanted to see why I’ve not hit the 3K mark yet, this was the perfect data to visualize and gain insights.
Methodology and Metrics
I used Tableau to connect to the csv file and created a simple dashboard with a bunch of views.
Metrics include :
Total Follower count
Follower over Time
Net follower Growth- Followers Gained and Lost
Subscriber Growth
Tableau Dashboard
I created a Tableau dashboard in less than 30 minutes to encapsulate all the different aspects I wanted to track for audience growth. Some points I added once I learned that Medium makes available details like followers lost. The result can be viewed here- screenshot is as below.
