New Month, New Perspective
It’s a beautiful rainy day here in North Carolina where I live. I grew up in Mumbai, India, so rains represent ‘fun, freshness and flourishing’ for me.
It’s all about the perspective after all.
It’s also the end of Daylight savings here in the United States. And I like to think of it as an unexpected ‘gift’ of time. I wrote about this under the category of ‘Inspiration’- read it right here.
Today is also a brand new month, the penultimate in the year. November 1 is also special for writers- it is the beginning of NaNoWriMo — National Novel Writing Month. Even if you have no plans of writing a full-fledged novel (though why not, it’s fun!); consider joining. I can give you more than three reasons right away. Read it here.
Speaking of writing, one of the apps that I see almost everyone using is Grammarly. I do too! But more than the grammar and sentence construction help, I think I learned more from their manner of engaging with users. If you want to learn and emulate their winning strategy, you can read about it here.
And now for the tips to grow- that’s what you signed up for, right?
Here, we go:
Follow #sixwordstory on Twitter.
This is a great hashtag on Twitter meant for writers. People share a picture or prompt and all we have to do- is channel our inner Hemingway. Try it. Even if you don’t participate, consider reading the comments- it’s fun and will get your creative juices flowing. More importantly, it’ll spark off ideas- that will help write new stories and more.
Have you tried it? You can see my replies -I did three so far- on my Twitter account.
With that, signing off. Have a great week ahead.
