  1. Sampling is a defined as selecting some members from whole population for study and to estimate characteristics of whole population .
  2. Sampling is group of people who actually participate in the research .

There are two types of Sampling :-

1. Probability Sampling:-

Probability sampling is sampling technique in which sample from large population in selected by randomly . Every member have equal chance to be part of a sample .

For example :- In a population of 1000 members, each of these members will have 1/1000 chances of being selected to be a part of a sample. It gets rid of bias in the population and gives a fair chance to all members to be included in the sample.

There are four types of Probability Sampling Technique :-

  1. Simple Random Sampling :- It is very simple and best sampling technique . It helps in saving time and resources . In this technique very member have a equal chance to be included in the sample , because in this every members are selected randomly .
  2. Cluster Sampling :- It is a technique where researchers divide the whole population into small sections or cluster that represent the whole population . Clusters are made on the basics of various parameters such us :- age , sex , location , etc .
  3. Systematic Sampling :- In this technique , members are selected in regular intervals of population . This sampling has predefined intervals .
  4. Stratified Random Sampling :- The population is divided into small groups and it don’t overlap but represent the entire population . While sampling these groups can be organized and then draw a sample from each group separately.

Advantages of Probability Sampling :-

  1. Its Cost-Effective.
  2. It is simple and easy .
  3. It does not require any technical knowledge .
  4. Its time consuming .
  5. It create accurate sample .
