Workforce Development is a Strategic Priority under NJ Economic Development Plan
The NJ Economic Development Plan outlines a series of strategic priorities and actions for strengthening the State’s economy, first among them investment in innovative tools, methods and services to help those seeking work, changing work or re-entering the workplace and the employers who hire them.
“Strategic Priority #1: Investing in People: Reinvigorate NJ’s public workforce system, including creation of the NJ Career Network emphasizing career coaching and responsive services, both in person and virtually” — NJ Economic Development Plan, Strategic Priorities.
The Economic Plan strengthens a commitment laid out in the Governor’s budget and approved by the NJ legislature when it appropriated $34.5 million for workforce development initiatives in this year’s budget.
