Need a Protest Playlist for the Midterms?
Get-Out-The-Vote activities are in full swing across New Jersey and the country. Motivate yourself and others through election day with our 2018 “Go Vote” Midterms Playlist.
Since the 2016 Presidential Election, popular music has seen a spike in political and protest songs. New Jersey Plus has done extensive research to build a “protest playlist” that activists young and old will appreciate. While we tried really hard to include Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” (a personal favorite), we shortened the playlist to recent songs that specifically address the political and civic atmosphere post-2016. We picked 8 of our favorites from all the songs that have been released since the 2016 election and tried to keep a balance between genres. After listening, you’ll be wishing you voted by mail weeks ago. (Really though, you should sign up for Vote-By-Mail- it’s super easy and really convenient).
