I cannot get past Memorial Day without thinking about my cousin’s tragic war story.
The story of my cousin JC is illustrated in two photographs. One taken before he went off to war, the second three years after he returned.
In the first picture, JC, is standing in front of a small shop with his fiancé. It is his business. He and she are smiling. He looks vibrant and proud of his business, his life, and his woman. His hat is cocked a bit to the side.
