In this Easter season, I treasure an ordinary day that my spouse and I had at a friends 18 months ago.
Nothing spectacular, just sitting outside, thinking, talking, and sipping good wine. We lit Japanese lanterns and released them into the sky. The memories shape my vision for the rest of 2021.
Some lanterns took off and flew far away, some struggled, but we got all of them into the sky. All tried to fly. Trying is all we can ask of people, that they try to do the right thing. This pandemic is not over: we are fighting back. We are helping each other as our parents taught us to do.
