We’d like to introduce , one of our Author Accelerator members. Erin recently finished her manuscript. We invited her to sit down for a little interview to talk about his experience. So without further ado, here is Erin Nieto!

Q: Okay, Erin, can we have the basics about your project and your book coach?

Erin: My book, Love and Conductivity, is a historical fiction novel. I worked with book coach, Erin Lindsay McCabe.

Q: How long did you work with Author Accelerator on this manuscript?

Erin: I have been working on this project with Author Accelerator for 15 months.

Q: How does it feel to have finished?

Erin: Exhilarating, as if I’ve finished a mental marathon. And also like I’m emerging from a kind of hibernation, and astonished to and a little bear cub beside me, blinking and breathing on its own.

Q: What did you do to celebrate?

Erin: Bought myself the best guilty pleasure I can think of: Springbank 15 year, single malt scotch.

Q: What’s next for your book?

Erin: Revision! I’ve got to grow it some more before I can send it out in the world.

Q: What are the next steps in your writing career?

Erin: Honestly, take a break! Other parts of my life have also been in hibernation this whole time: my social and physical lives have languished while I had my butt in the chair. So, put friends and family front and
center, start an exercise regimen, and let fresh inspiration
nd ME!

Oh! And hopefully land an agent.

Q: Why would you recommend coaching?

Erin: It has been absolutely essential in my journey to “The End”. Having the deadlines and accountability, as well as the incredibly insightful feedback of my coach, Erin McCabe, is what has made a writer out of me. And I am eternally grateful that this program exists. Thank you.

Q: Do you have anything you would like to share about the coaching process or your coach specifically?

Erin: For so many years, I wanted to write. I DID write, albeit sporadically. Not until I enrolled in Story Genius did I take up writing as a *practice* — and that has made all the difference in giving me a mindset as a writer.

And I could not have asked for a better coach than Erin McCabe, who also saw me through the Manuscript Accelerator program. I was already a fan of her novel when I was so serendipitously paired with her for SG, and so I trust implicitly her sensibility as it pertains to my own writing. She is always insightful, friendly, thorough, professional; finding my blind spots, pushing me when necessary and cheering me on when I needed it. Just THE BEST.

Thanks so much for taking the time to talk with us, Erin. And again, congrats on your huge accomplishment!
