The case that is as weird as it is complex.

Most of us that lived through the 1990s remember the infamous case of the Murder of JonBenet Ramsey. To recap, Jonbenet was a 6-year-old beauty pageant queen who was murdered sometime on Christmas day in 1996. The world was shocked that someone could hurt this beautiful innocent child, especially in the scenic town of Boulder, Colorado. She came from an upper-class White family and had two seemingly loving successful parents and an older brother. However, the case is the epitome of the saying all that glitters is not gold. Her tragic end is still a mystery and justice has never and will probably never be served. Below are the weirdest details about the case.

  1. The Most Random Ransom Note Ever!
Page 1 of the Ransom Note

This ransom note is one of the longest-known ransom notes in history. There is only one note reported to be longer for a kidnapping. From start to finish, the note is a medley of inconsistent nonsense. The author starts out talking very professionally then goes on to misspell simple words. There are references within the document that resemble 90s movies such as Speed. The author claims to be a member of a small foreign faction. However, people who are foreign to America usually don’t call themselves foreign. Also, the writing is clearly from an American-born writer based on the connotations and lingo. Forensic experts claim that the writer is female as well. Within the note, the author asks for 118,000 in exchange for Jonbenet alive. That amount happened to be the exact amount of money John Ramsey received in a bonus that year from his job.

2. No Foreign Finger Prints or Foot Prints.

The Ramsey family claims that someone broke in, yet there were absolutely no signs of this. There were no foreign footprints at their door. There were no tracks of snow in the house, as it was snowing in Boulder that day. There was no broken glass or broken locks. There was a window that was open in the basement that hypothetically someone could have crawled in however, there were old cobwebs on the window indicating no one came thru.

3. Sexual Assualt.

JonBenets’ father claims that she was never sexually assaulted by anyone during her life. However, medical records show damage to her vagina at the time of her murder. The damage was consistent with a prior assault. Also, that year she had gone to dozens of child wellness checks, more than the average needed. Also, JonBenet had a very bad bedwetting problem, which is sometimes a sign of sexual abuse in a child. Two weeks before the murder, someone in the house dialed 911 and then hung up.

4. Burke Ramsey.

There are reports of violence from her brother Burke, before her death. He once smeared fecal matter on her wall and he hit her with a hard toy. In various interviews and therapy sessions found on YouTube, Burke often appears nervous and unsympathetic towards his sister. There is also a picture of him smiling at the funeral.

5. The “Kidnappers” Took Nothing, Not Even JonBenet!

No money or valuables were missing, and they didn’t even take Jonbenet even though they asked for ransom money. Her body was found later that morning in the basement. Did the plan go array and they just decided to kill her and get out of there ?? Also, the kidnappers were supposed to call at 10 am with instructions according to the ransom note. Detective Linda Arndt, who responded to the scene, said in an interview that when 10 am came, no one reacted at all. No one was sitting by the phone. No one asked any questions about why the kidnapper wasn’t calling.

6. Patsy’s Handwriting, and Patsy in General.

JonBenet’s mother, Patsy showed extreme similarities in her writing to the kidnapper. Below is a sample of both writings (Pasty’s in the pink picture). Also, many things that were used or touched during the murder of Jon Benet were owned by patsy and/or had Patsy’s fingerprints on them. Additionally, Pasty, who was a high society woman in boulder, slept in the same clothes that she wore the day before. When police arrived they stated that it looked like She never really went to sleep. Some of the fibers from those clothes were found on the duck tape of JonBenet’s mouth.

7. Pineapples.

Pineapples were found in JonBenet’s digestive system. It was indicated by investigators that she would have had to had the pineapples right before she died. There was a bowl of pineapples on the table that night with Burke and Patsy’s fingerprints. Both Burke and Patsy deny giving JonBenet the fruit or witnessing her eat it.

8. The Way the Family Acted Right After.

The family immediately lawyered up and hired a publicist before they were even accused of anything. Also, they avoided police for weeks before finally talking to investigators. Upon the murder, John Ramsey also immediately called for their private jet to take them to their former home of Atlanta.

9. Possible DNA.

There have been theories of an intruder due to DNA that was eventually found on Jonbenet’s underwear. However, experts have said that its possible that could have been residual DNA from the manufacturers or various individuals who came in contact. The results are still inconclusive.

10. A Grand Jury Voted to Indict the Parents.

A Grand Jury voted to indict the parents for putting their child in a situation to be harmed. After the deliberations, this is what the jury concluded. However, the District Attorney at the time decided to not go forward with pressing charges against the parents. She later publicly exonerated them. However, many were confused by this decision. One Grand Jury member stated in an interview that he believes he knows who did it, but the person will never be brought to justice.

Though I believe I know who committed this crime I'm not saying for sure in this blog. This is merely a compilation of bizarre details about the case. Feel free to share your opinions. Thank you for reading.
