We are eight months in.
I think it’s rather clear.
2020 sure has been
One hell of a year.

Our Australian mates
Were plagued with wildfires.
Impeachment failed.
But someone’s still a liar.

We lost Kobe and his crew
In a helicopter crash.
We found out Harvey Weinstein
Was yet another creepy ass.

Mr. Peanut died.
Turned out it was a joke.
Meghan convinced Harry
To be a regular bloke.

And then Coronavirus
Created fear and distress.
We hoarded toilet paper
In a constant state of stress.

The tragedy of George Floyd
Was our country’s tipping point.
Too much hatred. Too much loss.
And you still can’t smoke a joint.

People packed on the pounds.
We had wine delivered to our door.
Even kids grew tired of Zoom.
I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!

Can this year be over?
It hasn’t been much fun.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed
For a better 2021.
