Taking a brief break from World War Three
We tuned in to escape insanity
But because all the world is the same stage
It enthralled and brawled — just like this age

A woman with a rare disease
Was insulted with casual, sexist ease
Her prince — still fresh — and on the case,
Rode in to slap the offender’s face

What does it teach us? Why are we so invested?
Maybe because we’re completely infested…
With the idea that cruelty is the norm
Retaliation is a weird port in the storm

Did we learn culture is a vast cesspool?
Canceling is dumb, Culture wars aren’t cool?
Or did we learn Will Smith and celebrity —
Is not prince of the world. That’s still Zelenskiy.

Perhaps it should tell us: get off your fences,
Your words and deeds have consequences
