at the races of Preakness
headlines went to Bodexpress
for throwing jock Velazquez
in an ill-timed gate egress
to the end she did progress
foamy-mouthed and rider-less
not a fan I must confess
of stirrups nor of harness
but with this poem I shall bless
War of Will’s hard-fought success
For the record, all this actually happened, yesterday.
