Cancel Culture

It is what it is.

I planned to open with _______
because it so perfectly revealed
the problem we’re facing.
But then I concealed

it ‘cause maybe, just maybe
it went too far, left my point derailed,
not reinforced as I intended.
After that I flailed

for another example, finally
finding an apt illustration.
My wife said, “Oh no, not that!”
And in resignation

I’m playing it safe, yes, skipping town.
My stamp has been cancelled and it’s
bringing me down.
