A few different Worlds (Author’s Own)

Those everyday things — we have taken for granted
Cannot easily be — remade or supplanted.
The hug from a child — or visit to your mother
Or a kick on the shins — by an older brother.
A long stroll in the park — or swim in the cold sea
Or having that long snog — under a shady tree.

Yet bound in our homes — there is oodles we can do
Liberate our inventiveness — and think — anew.
Concoct a fabulous book — in a snuggly den
Or mimic Alcatraz — in a toddler’s playpen.
Create a new cocktail — from old store cupboard tat
Hitch cords to a beam — and become an acrobat.

Singalong with a young pup — muzzle to muzzle
Dust down that impossibly tough — jigsaw puzzle.
Play adventurous tag — with a frisky rabbit
Maybe it is time to break — that snorting habit.
Learn a dead language — and save an ancient nation
Pitch shadow boxing — to thrash out — all frustration.
